BSNES NOT SEEING ROMS UPDATEIts latest update in January 2021 brought full compliance with Google’s Developer Program Policies. Once a highly popular SNES emulator, ClassicBoy became an abandon-ware back in 2014 before coming back from the dead last year. This makes RetroArch the best emulator out there, as it doesn’t limit users to games released for a particular console. Since the emulator uses different liberto cores to run games, it not only includes support for classic SNES games, but also allows users to play a ton of other games released on platforms like the Nintendo Wii, GameCube, Game Boy, 3DS, Sega Dreamcast, etc. On top of that, RetroArch is also capable of natively recording and streaming your gameplay to popular streaming platforms like and YouTube. The emulator includes support for a number of different controllers and it offers several advanced features like shaders, netplay, and rewinding. Essentially, the software provides a polished interface for the user to play a wide range of classic games, making it quite easy to use. RetroArch is often described as a front-end for emulators which runs programs converted into dynamic libraries called liberto cores. Kicking off the list is RetroArch, a great SNES emulator which comes with cross platform support, allowing users to enjoy SNES games on a variety of different platforms. So, in order to prevent any legal issues, it’s advised that you only play games that you already own or ones that you’ve ripped from the CD or cartridge yourself. Working from a drafty attic or a dark corner of the living room is often a rite of passage for new entrepreneurs. Delightful, petite, pink-hued buds swell and grow along the bare branches. Sugar Tyme Crabapple (Malus Sutyzam') has it all, from beauty to adaptability and disease resistance. This white-flowering variety is a plantsman's favorite, for good reason. If it is dry, give it a good soaking with the hose end (no nozzle) watering the soil only, not the leaves. If you are searching for a wonderful specimen tree to highlight your landscape, why not use one of the top-rated varieties? No need to second guess yourself. If it is moist, there is no need to water. How do you know if your plants need water? The easiest way to tell is to touch the soil around the roots. After the first season, plants should only be watered during extended periods without rain.Stick your finger into the soil around 3” to check soil moisture.Beyond the 6 week establishment period, water once per week, unless rains occur.During this period, water plants as often as every 2-4 days at the start and at least a minimum of once per week. Plants typically take approximately 6 weeks to establish new roots in your soil.Spring pruning should be avoided as it produces fresh, open cuts where fireblight bacterium can enter. Although some flowers may be lost, it is best to prune this tree as needed in late winter.B&B - Although it is not essential for B&B to be pruned after planting, a light pruning for shape, to remove any broken branches from shipping, or to thin out a heavily branched plant will help in the transplanting process and in the appearance of your new planting. All pruning should be done with a sharp pruning shears. Pruning should occur either before or as soon after planting as possible. Bare Root - Prune ALL bare root plants to reduce transplant shock and ensure success.Add mulch on top of soil making sure to not put mulch against the trunk or stems. The top of the root ball should be visible and slightly higher than the soil around it.Fill the hole to the top of the ball with soil, then soak well with water and let settle.Lastly, remove exposed burlap from top of ball Then, remove or bend back top ? of metal basket. Once the tree is straight and located as desired, cut and remove twine.Backfill ½ of the hole with soil and completely saturate the soil with water.Place fertilizer packets into the bottom of the hole (if purchased). If necessary, add soil under the ball so the root flair is exposed. This root flair should show when the tree is planted. Notice where the base of the trunk flairs out from the tree.Dig a hole at least 6" wider and no deeper than the size of the ball on the plant. If a hard frost is expected be sure to hold off on planting. A good indicator if you can still plant is if the ground is still workable you’re good to go. See our link below “Handling & Planting Guidelines” for illustrations on planting.Back fill the balance of the soil and water well.Re-adjust plant and fill the hole with the rest of the soil.Spread the roots and fill halfway with soil, then water until soil settles completely saturating the soil and planting pit.Do not place other fertilizers in the planting hole. Place fertilizer packets in hole (if purchased).Trim off the broken roots and branches. The crown or graft of the plant should be slightly higher than ground level where it was grown at the nursery. Dig a hole at least 6" wider and the same depth as the root mass.Scroll down to an orange rectangular box and click on “Handling & Plant Guidelines” for illustration on planting each of these types. All bare-root plants must be trimmed when planted. Each plant type will be labeled separately for identification. Soak roots in buckets of water until planted. Bare Root - Cut open the bundle (top and roots are tied) and separate all the plants.Be sure to space plants 10 to 20 feet apart, depending on the expected mature size of the variety.Plant as a specimen/accent or in small groups.Established trees have some drought tolerance. CRABAPPLE SUGAR TYME FULLBest grown in medium moisture, well-drained, acidic loams in full sun. How much more processing clout you need to power that is up for debate, especially given that the Watch requires its wearers also own an iPhone pocket computer - which they likely will continue to upgrade, per carrier cycles. The use-cases Apple is sketching are mostly about allowing the owner to reduce their exposure to digital noise via curated notifications and selective communications. (Given the varying price-points, it’s possible Apple might offer certain types of internal upgrades to owners of only the more premium Apple Watches - who’ve shelled out the most in the first place.)Įven so, battery longevity is arguably more of a pressing issue, given that the power demands for such a lightweight wearable are constrained by usage limitations. #BATTERIES PLUS WATCH BATTERIES UPDATE#We’ll update this post with any additional details. At the time of writing Apple had not responded to our request for clarification. It’s not clear whether Apple will offer any kind of CPU and/or RAM upgrade to existing owners. The other potential obsolescence issue relates to the processor. Update: We understand the lifecycle of the battery is around three years. Albeit, it’s not clear how much it will cost to send in your wearable to Apple to get it returned with a new cell in place. An Apple spokesman confirmed to TechCrunch the “battery is replaceable”. Well, when it comes to the battery at least, owners of Apple Watch will be able to extend its lifespan. But who wants to shell out thousands for an add-on electronic device that’s likely going to be obsolete in two years? The Apple Watch starts at $349 for the sports watch and rises to a cool $17,000 for top-of-the-luxury-line 18-karat gold Edition. You can read our round-up of details from Apple’s event here. But as tech watchers chewed over the price-tag for the latest luxury gizmo to be born in Cupertino talk turned to obsolescence. The Apple Watch got its grand unveiling yesterday. In the next few lessons covering the circle of 5ths, I will show you how you can start memorizing all 30 key spellings. In total, there are 24 keys and 30 ways to spell them. In the same way, there are 15 different minor key spellings. There will be times when choosing one spelling over another is preferable. The former is spelled using flat note names (Gb, Ab, Bb, Cb, Db, Eb, and F), while the latter is spelled with equivalent sharp note names (F#, G#, A#, B, C#, D#, and E#). This results in 15 different major key spellings.Īs an example, the keys of Gb major and F# major contain the exact same notes. Three of the major keys can be named 2 different ways one way with sharp note names, and the other way with flat note names. Likewise, there are 12 minor scales and, therefore, 12 minor keys. Since there are 12 major scales, there are 12 major keys. Or, you may find them in a simple pop song. Or, you might find them used in heavy metal riffs. You will hear the use of outside notes heavily in many jazz solos. Outside notes occur in most styles of music to some degree. Skilled musicians and composers have learned to use these outside/off key notes without upsetting the tonality of the music. If outside notes are used improperly it’s possible to throw off a song’s tonality and create an unpleasant effect. Outside notes can be (and often are) used, but the bulk of the notes will still center around the notes of the key and the key’s tonic. Notes not in the scale are considered to be outside of the key. Can a Piece of Music Only Use Notes Within the Key? There are a couple of audio examples of the sense of tonality. This effect is possible because of everyone’s natural sense of tonality. When the end of a song goes unresolved it often has a comical effect. It’s a very natural sound to expect and it will sound strange when you don’t hear it. Most songs finish on the tonic of the key to make the song sound complete or finished. Although points of resolution occur all throughout a song, you will most noticeably hear it at the end of a song. Listen for the TonicĪs you listen to music, try to pay attention to these concepts of tonality and resolution. Most people don't like the sound of atonal music. When a piece of music lacks a tonal center it is said to be atonal (pronounced AY-toe-nul). Almost all music to which we listen is tonal. When music has this centered sound to it, it is said to be tonal (pronounced TOE-nul), or possessing tonality. It’s exciting much like a pole-vaulter, basketball player, or juggler might be. Continuing the gravity analogy, music momentarily defies gravity, but then comes back down. Moving away from and back to the tonic resting point of the key is partly what makes music interesting and why it has a pleasing effect on us. The tonic is the most resolved note in a key. When you play music, the music is constantly being pulled toward the tonic, or root of the key, wanting to come to a state of rest or completion. Objects can move away from Earth, but eventually come back down. All objects are constantly pulled toward Earth until they come to a state of rest on its surface. I think of keys and the tonic like gravity on Earth. When speaking of keys, the root note of the key is called the tonic (pronounced TAWN-ik). The root note of an Eb minor scale would be Eb. For example, the root of the C major scale is C. Similar to the root notes of chords, the root note of a scale is the note on which a scale is built. The root note of the key acts as the center of the key. For example, a song in the ‘key of D minor’ uses the notes of the D minor scale D, E, F, G, A, Bb, and C.Īny major scale or natural minor scale can serve as a key for a piece of music. Similarly, a piece of music can be in a minor key and revolve around a natural minor scale. That means the fundamental notes making up the song’s melody, chords, and bassline are all derived from that group of notes.Ī song in the ‘key of F major’ uses the notes of the F major scale F, G, A, Bb, C, D, and E. A song in a minor key is based on a minor scale.Ī song played in the ‘key of C major’ revolves around the seven notes of the C major scale C, D, E, F, G, A, and B. A song in a major key is based on a major scale. In music a key is the major or minor scale around which a piece of music revolves. You might consider rereading this lesson from time to time until you solidfy your understanding of this essential musical concept. With experience the concept will become more and more clear. The idea is a bit abstract and can be confusing, even mystifying, in the beginning. The concept of keys in music is important to understand.
